Personal Identity Device (PID)
The Personal Identity Device (PID) is a battery powered, radio frequency transmitter secured to the ankle or wrist of a person placed on an Electronically Monitored curfew order.
Fitting and Activation
There are no special tools required to fit the Personal Identity Device and it can be activated at any location using either a Field Management Unit or a Field Activator Unit.
Unobtrusive Design
The Personal Identity Device resembles a wristwatch and weighs less than 70 grams. The unobtrusive and practical design means that it can be worn comfortably under clothing without having to draw any attention to the person wearing it.
Durability
The Personal Identity Device is worn continuously for the duration of a curfew order and is therefore extremely robust, as it is subjected to all aspects of everyday life.
Superior Tamper Detection Technology
The Personal Identity Device has a superior fibre optic thread embedded in the strap, any attempts to cut or remove the strap, will break the fibre optic connection and a tamper alert is immediately raised with the Monitoring Centre.
Tamper Reset
Following a tamper, the Personal Identity Device can be easily reset in the field using either a Field Management Unit or a Field Activator Unit.
Battery
The active battery life of the Personal Identity Device is a minimum of 12 months.
